We can't really explain Rancho Pillow better than they do, so:
"Set among the farms and ranches of southeast Texas, Rancho Pillow is a whimsical wonderland that has been a true artistic adventure for owner and designer, Sheila Youngblood. What began as a family compound in 2006 has become a heartfelt landscape that invites all of us into a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other. Poetic and playful, it's an idyllic shelter for Sheila's Latin American folk art finds, colorful architectural restorations, and collected curiosities from both wordly travels and years of hunting in her Round Top backyard."
This super simple cabin is the perfect place to escape to with your partner and dog for a quiet weekend away from it all. You're off on the far side of the owner's ranch (can't see their house from the cabin, so the cabin is very private) and you've got an oil lamp but no electricity or water. Simple living and simple times. Bring a book, a headlamp, and a bit of wood. It's definitely an adorable, no frills cabin.
Hard to really explain, this collection of shelters, funky trailers, tents is really something you have to go experience in person. There's a specific spirit to the place that's about taking your time and not getting quite so caught up in this world of urgency. El Cosmico has a cool vibe, plenty of interesting characters staying on the land (it's sort of like a campground), and a lot of great activities throughout the year. Best of all, they have a number of different structures you can stay in depending on the time of year and your budget.
A 20 ft Bell Tent in Texas means you're glamping. There's AC for the summer, an outdoor shower, and a queen size bed. A full bathroom with shower is right outside your tent and all linens are provided. The hosts take good care of you so you're definitely in for some real southern hospitality! Texas Hill Country is super charming and green, with a lot more water than you might expect, and plenty of live music if you're looking to find it.
Just outside of Canton, on your way from Dallas to Tyler, you've got an airy modern farm house waiting for you. Simple, comfortable, and overlooking a charming pond; you've basically got that great go-to spot with just the right charm and none of the try-too-hard. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms this spot can easily sleep 6 guests so round up your friends and plan an escape.
Just outside San Antonio, this property has it all -Treehouse Cabins, Getaway Cabins, and Teepees. They have a lot of activities you can take part in (paddleboarding, kayaking, ping pong, hot tub, and loads more) or you can just kick back in your treehouse and call it a vacation. All the structures are well decorated, appointed with everything you need and then some. It's sort of like summer camp meets a retreat meets the coolest family friend's place you used to always go to as a kid.
