Utah & Colorado
Bright and cozy all at once, this large a-frame can sleep 6 guests and, surprisingly, it's not that far from Salt Lake City. While the cabin itself was built 30 years ago, the decor got a full refresh recently and it's truly beautiful. With panoramic views of red rock, mountains, streams, and all the stuff in between, you're looking at a true charmer. Very easily put, this Scandinavian inspired cabin is one not to be missed.
With 13 cabins to choose from, they're all honestly breathtaking. Full of hand-hewn, western magic, they've got a little whimsy and a little elegance; plus, they're all built around a saloon, dance hall, and bath house. Originally built by miners, the cabins aren't large, but they're all unique and interestingly appointed. There's a lot of activity to be had so plan accordingly and make a point to soak, hike and wander. Honestly, this one's been on our bucket list for quite awhile and we hope it's now on yours too!
Constructed pre-1879, this rebuilt miner's camp is in Buena Vista, southwest of Denver and east of the White River, Gunnison, and Grand Mesa National Forests. With two bedrooms, they can sleep up to 7, and there are a lot of activities to be had (heck, it is Colorado, after all). With hand hewn logs throughout, timber planks, and bead board, the cabin is charming and the wood fire stove is a winner. Plus there's a claw foot tub and a half acre of property to call your own.
